What Is A Boudoir Session Like?

So first off, your comfort is paramount, and this shoot is all about YOU and what you want. You can come in with a clear vision or no ideas at all, or somewhere in between. We’ll start out with you wearing whatever you feel most comfortable in and proceed from there. I’ll help with posing, what to do with your hands, all of that stuff, but you have ultimate control over everything. If at any point I suggest something that you aren’t into just let me know and I’ll cheerfully move on to something else. Shoots usually take about two hours but I don’t set a time limit, I’d much prefer a stress-free environment where we can take our time rather than ever feeling rushed. I do everything I can to make my shoots comfortable and fun and affirming, and I’m dang good at it if I do say so myself.

I’m Really Shy/Nervous, I’ve Never Done Something Like This Before!

My specialty! Take a look at my portfolio, every single one of those photos is a client, the vast majority of whom have never done anything like this before. Probably my biggest talent is helping people feel comfortable and safe, it’s something I take immense pride in. I love love love watching my clients come out of their shell and really get into having their very own photo shoot, and the look on their face when they see the photos is why I do this. You’re a total babe and whoever you deem lucky enough to see the photos is gonna know it.

Can I Bring A Friend?

Totally! They should be someone you feel comfortable around, they shouldn’t be taking their own photos or otherwise interrupting the flow of the shoot, and I genuinely might put them to work holding a reflector.

Do You Have A Studio?

I don’t actually. I’ve thought about it a bunch, it would certainly be convenient, but studios bore me. I would much rather be creative figuring a new place out than do the same things over and over again. Instead, we can shoot in your home, a swanky hotel room or AirBnb, or even outdoors if you know somewhere secluded.

OMG What Do I Wear?!? What Do I DO???

Okay I know this stresses a lot of people out, but I think this is one of the best parts of doing a boudoir shoot. Something I’ve learned over the years is just how few people have ever thought about what they like, rather than what they think other people like. This is your chance to think about what YOU like, what you think is sexy, what you want to see yourself in. The sky is the limit, you can wear as much or as little as you’d like, tease or reveal as much as you’d like, literally anything from cute and silly to hardcore kinky porn. This is all about what YOU want. It’s also an excellent excuse for a shopping trip. I’d recommend having 3-4 outfit ideas, but again, your vision, your call.

What About Hair and Makeup?

This one is also up to you! Go natural, do it up a little, or do it up a lot! I can also find a professional to come hang out at the shoot with us if you’d like.

How Do You Handle Retouching?

I have a rose-tinted glasses view of retouching, my goal is to show the real you but on your best day, removing temporary blemishes and gently softening and brightening your skin. You’re still you, but if the stars don’t align on the day of our shoot I’ll make sure they align in post :)

Do You Work With Sex Workers?

Yup.

Who Will See My Photos? Will They Be Shared Online?

The only people who will ever see your photos are the people you share them with, unless you choose to release them to me. I offer a $100 discount if I can share my favorites with the world (I’m proud of a portfolio featuring only actual clients rather than hired professional models, and occasionally I like to make things like books and calendars and stuff) but this is entirely your choice. I also offer an additional $150 print credit if you write a bit about yourself for my Blog.
